As a photography student at RMSP, as soon as I saw Michael landing front-flips on command at the Lost Horse Canyon Climbing Festival, I was all over the idea of lighting Michael's front-flip with my school's studio strobes - RMSP's got Profroto! Michael didn't care about the photos too much, I really appreciated his willingness to work with me to make a few still images.
I took Michael for a quick drive up to the top of Blue Mountain for a photo shoot into the sunset. As I blasted him with daylight balanced light from RMSP’s studio strobes, Michael kept performing my photo requests on command, if I asked him to jump, he jumped, if I asked him to front-flip he did a front-flip. It was the Buddha pose that Michael had dialed into his muscle memory that particularly blew my mind!
